DECOR

Since Winnie the Pooh LOVES honey, we decorated the party area with both Winnie the Pooh items as well as bees, beehives, and honey pots. We had some Beehive Favor Boxes around the table as well as the food table, which was covered in a Bumblebee Party Tablecloth

For our table setting, we used a table beehive centerpiece and Winnie the Pooh Plates & Napkins from Oriental Trading (Winnie the Pooh Dinner Plates, Winne the Pooh Dessert Plates, Winnie the Pooh Favor Cups, and Winnie the Pooh Honeycomb Napkins)

We also created some decorated, honey-themed labels for the tables as well as the games (Feel free to use them for your own personal use: Winnie the Pooh Labels & Images).  We paired some of those with “honey jars”: Plastic Mason Jars filled with gold tissue (for the honey) and Honey Dipper Sticks.

ARRIVAL

We had a few Winnie the Pooh themed items in the entry way to greet guests & set the theme.

To entertain guests them when they came in, we had a few stations set up:

  • Guess the #.  We had 2 guess the # of items in the jars, one filled with Mini Wooden Bumblebees and the other filled with alternating black and orange pony beads (to resemble Tigger’s Tail).
  • Photo Booth. We opted for a ‘forest’ backdrop instead of a Winnie the Pooh specific one.  We had all of our Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal friends (complete with party hats), so that guests could pose with their favorite 100 Acre Wood friend. We did also splurge on a large Tigger Cutout which definitely added to the fun for the day.
  • Winnie the Pooh Playing Cards.  We had a deck with Winnie the Pooh characters on it and left that out on a table for guests to play card games.  (This particular set doesn’t seem to be available anymore, but you can find a set from the Dollar Tree: Winnie the Pooh Flash Cards, though if you purchase online you’ll have to order a certain quantity).

CRAFTS

  • Beehive Bee Skeps.  We didn’t manage to find the rope but used some brown ribbon.  They worked well enough 🙂
  • We also purchased some extra plastic pots (used in the beehive skep craft) and had planned for the guests to use them as Honey Coloring Crafts. Some of them ended up coloring them as beehives instead – whatever makes them happy 🙂
  • Later on during the games, we used printed out footprints to help the kids find some 100 Acre friends.  For more footprint fun, we had a Woodland Footprint Kit where they could create paper imprints of footprints with crayons.

FOOD & DRINKS

We had a “hunny” themed food table where most of our dishes had some sort of honey ingredient in them.

Appetizers / Sides:

  • Honey Nut Cheerios Cups
  • Honey Bunches of Oats Cups
  • Oats & Honey Granola Bars
  • Rabbit’s Veggie Garden

Main Course:

  • Sandwiches in Honey Wheat Bread
  • Tigger Tails (buttered rotini)
  • Honey Spiral Ham

Dessert:

  • Cupcakes decorated with toothpicks & Winnie the Pooh stickers
  • Honey Roasted Almonds
  • Honey Pecan Bites
  • Just Honey 🙂

GAMES

  • Find the 100 Acre Friends.  We used some pig, donkey, tiger, and bear footprint printouts to guide our young guests to a miniature version of Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and Winnie the Pooh.   We also had them guess which 100 Acre friend they thought they would find at the end of their footprint trail before they actually set out.
  • Honey Toss. For this game, rather than using buckets, we printed out some Hunny images that we created (Feel free to use them for your personal use. Click here to check them out). The small stuffed animals were also from the Dollar Tree (Disney Tsum Tsum Plush Toys), but they might not have the entire set on a single day. We were lucky to find the four 🙂 Just like the other Dollar Tree links in this post, if you purchase online there is a minimum quantity, so if you’re only looking for one or two items, you might want to head into the store ;).
  • Eeyore Tail Count.  We created an Eeyore-like Tail image, printed out a handful, and hid those around the party area.   The kids had 5 minutes to see how many they could find (Note: we did have to mention they shouldn’t take them – just count how many they could find, so that everyone could have a chance to find them all)
  • Winnie the Pooh Trivia.   We followed a quiz on coolestfreeprintables.com: Printable Winnie the Pooh Quiz and used that as a trivia game for the kids.  We passed out printed versions to small groups and gave them a few minutes to see which group got the most answers.

  • Mini Winnie the Pooh Puzzles. We purchased a “Go Together” Winnie the Pooh Card Game. It’s technically an educational / matching type game, but we used it as a “working together game”. We gave each child a few cards and then had them all work together to put the puzzles together. It was a good way to get them all to cooperate 🙂
  • Beehive Piñata.  While you can purchase a beehive or Winnie the Pooh Piñata, you can also make an budget friendly one fairly easily with items you may already have around your house. Click here for our detailed instructions.

GOODIE BAGS

For our goodie bags, we sprinkled in some candy but also added in an “oats and hunny” granola bar, “hunny bunches of oat cup”, and “hunny roasted almonds”.  We also added in some bumble bee eggs, candy goodies, winnie the pooh stickers, & yellow mosquito bracelets (cause it’s that time of year 🙂 ).
