Looking for a simple craft to get your kids excited for Thanksgiving – whether it’s an autumn themed lesson or a fun little activity for the day, this is the simple, easy, inexpensive pom pom turkey for you! Read on to check out the fun!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
THE SUPPLIES:
- One Fake Autumn Leaf
- One Medium to Large Brown Pom Pom
- One Medium to Large (smaller than the first pom pom) Brown Pom Pom
- One orange construction paper (or orange felt, pipe cleaner, etc)
- Two small googly eyes
- Glue Dots
STEPS
STEP 1: Create the Body
Using your glue dot, attach the larger pom pom to the bottom of the leaf. Just above the larger pom pom, add the smaller one. Use a glue dot to glue the back to the leaf and the bottom to the top of the other pom pom. Note: You could use other glue-types such as a hot glue gun or regular glue, but a glue dot works well & doesn’t require the drying time.
STEP 2: Create the Face
Using your glue dots, attach the googly eyes to the smaller pom pom. Cut a small piece of the orange paper (or felt or pipe cleaner) into a V shape. Attach the V-shaped below the eyes.
STEP 3: Create a Whole Flock of Turkeys!
(Optionally) Create a few more turkeys! Use them as decorations on the Thanksgiving Dinner tables, add them to take-home bags, or just pass them out for fun 🙂
