An Awesome Pink Barbie Party – Easy & Inexpensive Ideas

Whether you (or a family member or friend) has been a Barbie fan for years or fell in love after the movie, this Barbie party is perfect for you! Filled with easy and inexpensive ideas, you can throw an AMAZING party without breaking the piggy bank! Read on to check out our ideas!

INVITATIONS

It’s a Barbie party! Get everyone n the theme by asking them to dress up as their favorite Barbie character and/or bring a doll or two to the party!

DECORATIONS

Bring out ALL the pink – it goes with everything!!! Bring out all the pink balloons, streamers, and confetti! Then decorate! We also picked up some Barbie-themed decorations (Pink Glitter Doll Confetti, Barbie Table covers, and Barbie Garland ) to add into the mix!

THE PHOTO AREA

Photo backdrops are a great way of setting a theme and double as a nice and easy activity! Pick a backdrop that functions as decorative, add a few props to the scene and you’ve got a great place to hang out!

If you’re a Barbie fan, chances are you’ve seen the massive pink Barbie boxes that someone can get into and take a picture! If, however, you don’t have a box that big (because who does??), you can always pick up a Let’s Go Party Decoration – complete with Barbie photo props! Otherwise, you could go a bit more traditional & set up a Barbie Pink Backdrop.

For our party, we reused a small Retro Pink Glitter Wall backdrop that looks amazing! We also set down a “pink carpet” (pink table cover) in place of a ‘red carpet’ for our guests to feel like stars! If you want to get a little fancier, you could opt for a Pink Glitter Roll to set down as your ‘red carpet’. We set out some paper pink crowns for all to enjoy! If you have a larger group, you may want to use a bigger pink backdrop: Pink Glitter Wall.

Note, you don’t have to go all out with a photo backdrop stand either. Grab a few pieces of tape and an empty wall & you’re all set!

THE TABLE

For our table, we did purchase a few Barbie themed items (Barbie Table cover, Barbie Dinner Plates, Barbie Dessert Plates, and Barbie Centerpiece). We also used some pink tissue to wrap up some candy. To make it a bit more Barbie themed, we added in a Pink Cupcake Topper.

PARTY FOOD

No party is complete without some party food! You can always serve some typical (or fancier) party food, but you can also keep in theme with a few clever labels or snacks 🙂

For a Barbie party, bring out everything pink!

ACTIVITY TABLE(S)

We typically set up an activity table for kids to keep entertained while everyone arrives AND after all the games are done. These activities are simple and easy and typically don’t require too much supervision.

GAMES

What’s a party without some fun and memorable games??? Kids will definitely have fun just running around and coming up with their own games, BUT adding in a few themed games will definitely be a hit with your guests! Here were a few of ours.

Barbie Runway: Since many of our guests came in a Barbie outfit, we had a bit of a ‘fashion show’ 🙂

And while we didn’t have these games at our party, you could also add these in for some more party fun.

Barbie Bingo: There are quite a few printable versions online if you’ve got Bingo fans in the group!
Chess in Pink: Who says Barbie (& fans) can’t play chess, especially in pink!

GIVEAWAYS AND GOODIE BAGS

What’s a party without a few giveaways 🙂 In addition to any crafts they made, a few themed items would be nice to add into a goodie bag. In addition to some standard party giveaways, we added in some pink notepads, pink sunglasses, and pink candy!
