An Amazing Superhero Party – Suit Up for Training

Get ready for an amazing, memorable superhero party! With super fun games and a party table buzzing with excitement, your guests will be sure to have an incredible time! Read on to check out the fun 🙂

THE INVITATIONS

For this party, we set up the games as if the kiddos had to go through training tasks created by different superheroes.  So, naturally, we had to let our guests know that they could come dressed up as their favorite superheroes and be prepared to train!

DECOR

Though our invites and plates were not specific to any superhero type, we did have a few Avengers decorations and items scattered around the party area.

For the party table, we set up some Dollar Tree plates, napkins, and cups for each kid.  We also had some Avengers stickers scattered around the table.  It was an easy way to add some fun – once they figured out they were stickers, the excitement level went up & they all started collecting and trading to get their favorites 🙂

We kept the centerpiece pretty simple – but it also doubled up as our goodie bag treat.   We picked up Lego Marvel Minifigure bags and arranged them into a bowl.  We also opened a couple beforehand so we could have the picture of the full collection on display.   This part was also a really big hit as the kids were told they’d get one at the end of the party and started chatting on which ones they wanted the most 🙂

THE CRAFT TABLE

While the kids waited for the games to start, we had a few coloring activities laid out on our craft table.   We picked up a few play packs and coloring books for the kids to pick from (They were all from the Dollar Tree or the dollar section of other stores, so they were allowed to pick one to keep).

We also had some superhero masks that they could design and wear throughout the party if they didn’t already have a mask.

GAMES

For the games, we had “Superhero Training Activities” where other more seasoned superheroes left some challenges for the kids to sharpen their superhero abilities.  We decorated each activity station with a figurine or a plush superhero with some speech bubbles to make it look like the superheroes are giving the instructions 🙂

Iron Man, the engineer of the group, can build anything with almost nothing.  His challenge was to build a lego tower that would withstand the impact of a small toy car.

Spiderman gained increased senses after he was bitten by a very special spider.  His challenge was to focus on other senses  For this activity, we used ‘hearing’ since that was the easiest to set up.  We paired the kids together and had one walk across the room blindfolded with only their other pair as a guide (“Turn left”. “Walk straight 3 steps”, etc…).  Alternatively, you could have a “Taste” Session where you blindfold the kiddos, have them taste a fruit, veggie, or other snack, and ask them what it is.

Thor, God of Lightning, could wield a very powerful hammer.  His challenge was to break the “strongest space rocks” using the hammer.  Note: we did help the kids with this challenge as it involved a real hammer and some smashing. We let each kid pick out a “space rock” (which was actually a geode from the National Geographic Kit) and helped them break them open.  Geodes were new to some of our young guests, so they thought these were super cool!

Hulk, the strongest avenger, challenged the kids to 3 tasks!   We set this up a bit like an obstacle course in the yard.  The first task was to jump the farthest (not highest).  Then they had a hula hoop run – (If you can get enough hula hoops it’d be cool to have them run through with each leg in a hoop, but we had them just hop through each).  Then we had them end with doing as many jumping jacks as possible in one minute!   (You have to get them to burn off that energy somehow 🙂 )

And finally, Captain America led the kids on their final training task – to be prepared for any and all missions!  For this task, we had “missions” printed out on some paper & added them into balloons.   We had ‘Avengers’ music playing and had the kids keep the balloons in the air.  Once the music stopped, one of the kids had to pop their balloon, read the mission out loud, and all the kids had to perform it 🙂   The balloon also had a little prize and candy in it (so somewhat of a personal piñata).  We also had a few extras on the side in case they wanted to continue (even without popping a balloon).   Check out the full set of clues here.

GOODIE BAGS

Rather than have goodie bags, we let the kids pick one of the minifigure packets from the table’s centerpiece.  The suspense was already built up while they were eating so they were all super excited to open up their packets! (We also had some small avengers-themed bouncy balls for kids that were too young for Lego minifigures).
