Looking for some added fun to your Holiday season? If you’re planning a family movie night with Santa or the elves, looking for a themed Christmas party, or just want to add in some activities for the holiday season, these elf-themed ideas are an easy way to add some magic to your day! Read on to check out some ideas!
THE TABLE
Our table was set up fairly simply with a few elf-themed items mixed with solid colors all around the table. Each setting had a set of Elf Paper Plates and Napkins as well as some Wooden Peg Dolls dressed in Mini Elf Hats. (The wooden pegs and hats were also used later on in the day for a painting activity). Our centerpiece was simple as well – we used a Christmas Tree Honeycomb Centerpiece as well as some Mini Presents. (You might be able to see the pattern here.. we also used the rest of the mini presents in a later activity as well 🙂 )
SNACKS & DESSERTS
While walking down the cereal aisle in our grocery store, we stumbled upon Kellogg’s Elf on the Shelf cereal and we just couldn’t resist! While it’s one of those sugary cereals, it was a cute snack to add to the day. We portioned them off into mini cups to make sure they didn’t eat the entire box- haha!
ACTIVITIES & GAMES
- Christmas Elf Clothespin Craft: This is a nice craft with everything included in each packet to complete in one sitting – self adhesive stickers, painted clothespins, and easy to follow instructions. It comes in a set of 12, so it’s great for a mini party.
- Mini Christmas Character Stickers: For those sticker-loving kiddos out there, this one is great! They get to ‘dress up’ Santa, Elves, and Reindeer. There’s quite a few that come in a packet, so they can make a handful!
- Image Hunt Christmas Activity: This is a large piece of paper where kids can find a few images listed on the left. You could definitely use this as an activity placemat for the kiddos, but we opted to leave it on the side for an activity.
- Though we placed some Wooden Peg Dolls dressed in Mini Elf Hats on the table, we set the bulk of them out on a craft table with some paint pens. The kids got to paint/draw on the wooden pegs and create little elves 🙂 Depending on how crafty your little ones are, you may want to have a handful for them to design.
- Our final big activity was a mini treasure hunt – rather than have the kids solve clues, we simply hid the rest of the Mini Presents around the party area and let them find as many as they could. Truly, we had a few rounds of this one as they kept wanting to go on present hunts 🙂
- And last but not least, to calm everyone down we had a bit of story time. There are quite a few books out there on Santa and elves but we picked this sweet little one.
