In need of some easy and adorable bunny themed party ideas for your next spring or Easter celebration? Check out our budget-friendly, bunny-themed party with ideas on decorations, table settings, crafts, games, and more!
Most of the items we purchased for this party can be found either from dollar stores, local grocery stores, or online, so you don’t have to go all out and spend a ton!
THE TABLE
We set up our table with a ‘garden’ feel with moss bunnies (from the Dollar Store and Target), though you could also get them online. We also used bunny plates and very easily created some “Carrot Cups” (with orange cups and green napkins) as well as “Carrot Napkins” (with orange napkins and green plasticware).
Each table setting also had some bunny or carrot themed trinkets which doubled as table decorations as well as items that we had planned to use in our activities after lunch. For each guest, we had a few wooden slices (bunnies and carrots) from packets we picked up from the Dollar Store. Each guest also had a bucket of dollar store and craft store discount crafts. We also had mini carrot grow kits that we picked up from Target’s Spot section – though if you can’t find those – mini terra cotta pots and carrot seed packets could also work 😉 And of course, there was a mini moss bunny for everyone to take home 🙂
THE CRAFTS
For our crafts, we started off with some of the ‘less messy’ ones then worked our way up. Inside the bucket, we had some really easy bunny foam crafts (the pieces weren’t sticky, so we did have to use some glue). Then we moved onto carrot seed kits. And finally, we finished our craft time with the mini paint kits and wooden slices.
THE GAMES
We also had a few easy games for the little ones. Some did require a little bit of prep work but nothing too crazy 🙂
Carrot Picking: This game is similar to the carnival duck game (pick a duck, look at the number underneath, receive a prize based on the number). Instead of ducks, however, we used jumbo carrot eggs. Most were filled with candy but some had a special trinket inside.
Pin the Tail on the Bunny: This is a well-known game as well – pinning an item on a poster board or wall. In this case, we used a home-made bunny board (large white circles and some long ears glued onto a black poster board) and some cotton balls for the tail.
Find the Bunny / Hide the Bunny: This is a variation of the ‘hot cold game’ (one player is “it” while the others close their eyes or leave the room. The “it” player hides an object in the room. When everyone is let back in, they try to find where the object is hidden. The player tells them if they are ‘hot’ or close to the object or ‘cold’ if they are far from the object). Rather than hiding a regular old object, hide a stuffed animal bunny 🙂
Steal the Carrot: For this game, one person is the ‘bunny’, though they’re blindfolded. In their open hand, they have a carrot (this could be an orange egg or one of the carrot shaped eggs or even just a rolled up orange piece of construction paper). The other kids try to take the carrot without ‘getting caught’ or the bunny closing his or her hand around the carrot.
