A Simple & Easy Thanksgiving Acrostic Worksheet Activity to Add to Your Family Fun!

It’s Thanksgiving Season again! If you’re looking to add a bit of fun to your kid’s day with an educational activity, have them create a Thanksgiving Acrostic! Ask them to add a word or phrase that they’re grateful for to go with each letter OR ask them to be creative and pair each letter with a silly or fun task to use at your next Thanksgiving!

The concept is fairly simple. As an acrostic, spell out the word “THANKSGIVING” then use a word or phrase that starts with each letter. Encourage them to have fun with it! Try it out!

While you don’t have to stick to some Thanksgiving-Themed or Autumn Words, here are some that we played around with:

T: traditions, turkey, time
H: ham, harvest, hayride, haystack, holiday, home, horn of plenty
A: acorns, acorns, apple pie, autumn
N: napkins, November, nutmeg, nuts
K: Kid’s Table, knife (for turkey cutting)
S: sail, sauce, scarecrow, squash, stuffing, sunflowers, sweet potatoes
G: game, give, gratitude, gravy, green beans
I: ice, ice cream, invitations
V: vegetable
I: (same as above)
N: (same as above)
G: (same as above)

While gratitude is always something top of mind at Thanksgiving, for this activity, we asked our kiddos to think of some silly things to do during our Thanksgiving Dinner. They came up with a few things like:
