Getting the family together for Thanksgiving with all the generations? Need some kid-friendly ideas to keep the kids entertained for the evening? Check out some of our ideas below!
THE TABLE
Thanksgiving is all about the meal but some little kiddos just won’t sit still for that long 🙂 No worries. Dress up the table with festive paper plates (that you won’t worry about breaking) along with some activities that can keep them entertained 😉
From simple coloring placemats to trivia to treasure hunts – check out some of our ideas here 🙂 Note: You could also use some of the trivia or treasure hunts as a before or after dinner activity.
FOOD & DRINKS
Have fun with some appetizers & desserts 🙂
- Fruit Turkeys: Half a pear for the body & different shaped apples slices
- Mini Turkey Leg Piñatas: Filled with fall candy
CRAFT & ACTIVTIES TABLE
Keep the kiddos busy before or after dinner with a few fun crafts! To keep things simple, we picked up craft kits online in addition to some DIY & upcycled crafts.
CRAFT KITS
- Owl Turkey Ornaments
- DIY Giant Thanksgiving Sticker Scene
- Color Your Own Fall Standup Trucks
- Mini Maker Turkey Tube
DIY CRAFTS
These are some of our DIY crafts – we try to use materials you can find easily or upcycle to keep costs down but you can definitely substitute some of the materials with anything you have an hand 🙂
GAMES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
- Dress up some brown paper cups as turkeys (identically, though!) and play a bit of “Follow the Ball”.
- Pin the Tail on the Turkey. Using some craft feathers play a variation of ‘pin the tail on the donkey.
- A Fall Themed Puzzle. Break out a puzzle for the entire family to work on 🙂 Note: We usually don’t have anything more than 300 pieces, so that we – as a family – can complete it in one night. If you’re not a big puzzle family a 100 or 200 piece might be a bit easier to finish.
- Gather up the entire family & join in on some a few silly activities! Click here to check out one of ours that can be done in person or virtually 🙂
